The grootslang has two available forms: one bearing multiple shads of brown and bright tusks, and the other being a dark color paired with darker tusks with a fiery glow, In his first color, Themba has a three-circle symbol in his ears; in the darker version, he has a grey spiked pattern.
He has three outfits in the visual novel, his default formal outfit, a tank top with briefs, and a casual rugby polo. He's frequently seen wearing lots of jewelry, like rings, a gold watch and earrings.
Background[edit | edit source]
Themba's family worked managing the Hotel's finances for centuries, until the Master kicked all the guests and staff out in the 40s. Themba has since been living in Johannesburg, working as an accountant and living a comfortable life.

His high contract and tech stats make Themba better suited for R&D than Exploration.
Mythology[edit | edit source]
Themba is a Grootslang (Afrikaans for "big snake"), a South African cryptid described as a cave-dwelling elephant-sized snake that guards precious gems. It is sometimes depicted as a cross between snake and elephant.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Themba's textbox scroll is based on zig-zagging Zulu beadwork patterns. Traditionally these are multicolored, but it's made brown to match the rest of the games' monochrome textbox scrolls. It's brown to match Themba's default skin color.
- Themba's casual outfit is green, yellow and white, the colors worn by the Springboks, the South African national rugby union team.
- The colors for his forms were voted on by the fans of Minotaur Hotel.
